HomeServe Company Participates in Habitat for Humanities Hamilton Build

At HomeServe, caring is in the fabric of our corporate culture. Recently, our team from Service Line Warranties of Canada (SLWC), a HomeServe company, spent a day working on one of Habitat for Humanity Hamilton‘s home builds for a resident putting sweat equity into a safe haven of their very own. Service Line Warranties partnered with Habitat because their values align with our own — to see people stay safely and comfortably in a home of their own.

SLWC Cares, an offshoot of our charitable foundation HomeServe Cares, made a donation to Habitat for Humanity Hamilton earlier this year, and the team gave rave reviews about the experience of making a difference in the community by volunteering.

“I really enjoyed both days very much,” Daisy Peppler, Regional Operations Manager, said. “The build was great and I appreciated the conversations we had throughout both days!”

“It was very encouraging to do more in the community,” said Aimee Estrabillo, Energy & Sustainability Business Development Manager.

“It was a great team building exercise in every way,”  Morty Smolash, Senior Business Development Manager.

“It was a fun-filled day!” Adam Moede, Partnership Manager. “It was nice to get everyone together and work in the community. Hopefully we can find more opportunities in the future to get together and help the community.”

“It was a great day for our team,” Mike Van Horne, General Manager, said. “Getting out in the community and helping our neighbors is the core of who we are as a business and as people. I look forward to future collaborations with great community organizations like Habitat for Humanity Hamilton.”

In addition to our work with Habitat for Humanity Hamilton, HomeServe Cares and SLWC Cares also provide pro bono home repairs for homeowners who have a repair that impacts safety, sanitation or quality of life, but who does not have a home protection plan and cannot afford it.
